Donglin Temple has a long history and beautiful scenery. It was built in Han Dynasty, flourished in Tang Dynasty and became more
popular when King Zhou Jing of Ming Dynasty was buried here and was regarded as the Buddhist Prayer Room by King Zhou. There are ancient towers,
steles and magnificent and imposing buildings standing in the temple which is collectively called the “Three Great Forests” with Shaolin Forest and
Zhulin Forest and the “Four Great Temples in the Central Plains” with Shaolin Temple in
Dengfeng, Xiangguo Temple in Kaifeng and White Horse Temple in Luoyang.
